On Vlogging

The very first post I wrote that kicked off this blog, “Oshitbritt on Things,” was titled “On Blogging.” As I prepare all the logistics of getting together a YouTube channel where I will be vlogging once a week, and perhaps more as I get going, I wanted to first share my thoughts on here in a post titled “On Vlogging.”

I’m a really awkward person. So, I’m naturally inclined to write everything down, as oppose to verbalizing my thoughts. This is why blogging has been so good for me. I have a lot of thoughts, which in the past have gone unexpressed, but now are out here for other people to read, and they have been reading, and it has been going well. I wanted to expand to vlogging because there is a lot more fun to be had with it. There is only so much I can do with blogging when it comes to expressing my ideas. One of the best mediums through which to reach an audience is video and so that’s what I want to do, despite my awkwardness. It will definitely be a learning process to get over my shyness and really express who I am, but I believe I will really grow as a person as I overcome that battle.

One of the things I’m most excited with about this YouTube channel is the chance I will have to put some of the sketches I have written out there. This blog isn’t always the funniest or most light hearted, but that’s what I want to do with my video channel. It will be an opportunity to express another side of Oshitbritt. I’m going to be posting a lot of goofiness, fun, and hopefully through all of that a level of insight that is in line with my posts on here.

No fear, I will still be posting on here everyday. This is just an added thing, not a replacement. I will be launching my first video next Tuesday, November 12. Stay tuned on this blog, or on my twitter @oshitbritt for more details and where you can view my videos.
